Nantucket Architectural Review Process

The mission of the Nantucket Village Architectural Review Process is to review proposed external improvements and ensure all lots are maintained with upkeep and repairs so the theme of our unique Neighborhood is preserved.

General Process:
Floor plans, elevations, plot plan exterior materials and color samples shall be submitted to the Nantucket Board for review and approval. The board has 14 calendar days to respond once a compete package has been received. The Buyer will receive comments if approval is not granted. The board will have 14 calendar days to review each submittal until approval. Approval will be granted by a written document with attached elevations, floor plans, plot plan, exterior color and material samples.

Important Note:
Any proposed construction on your home lot, BEFORE BUILDING BEGINS, please forward the building plans to the Nantucket Board to review.  You will need to obtain approval and any required building permits prior to any construction beginning.

Dispute Resolution:
"Pursuant to N.C.G.S. Section 7A-38.3F, the association is required to notify its members yearly that members and the association may request voluntary mediation of any dispute with the association arising under the North Carolina Planned Community Act or under the association's declaration, bylaws, or rules and regulations, other than a dispute relating solely to the failure to pay dues or assessments. Either party can decline to engage in mediation for any reason. The procedure for requesting mediation is set forth in the statute."
